About this tour

Experience the Algarve’s biodiversity and culture first-hand!

Before we set out from our base, we begin with a full guidance and safety tuition to ensure that everyone is entirely comfortable with their quad and ready for adventure! Once everyone is confident and familiar with their vehicle, we will set off.

Starting from our base at Moinho do Leitão, we will drive through quiet country lanes and dirt tracks. As we wind through the local villages, you will feel as though you’ve gone back in time with a nostalgic glimpse at how life used to be.

We will experience some non-paved road riding through the local orchards including Orange groves, Carobs, and a host of other fruits and vegetables.

We stop for a bottle of water and a chat under the shade of the trees, before we hopping back on the quads to twist and turn again through the countryside on a diversity of back roads of the Algarve. You will be taken off-the beaten track and over rocky laneways before heading back up the mountain to Paderne.

Whilst there are a couple of stops, there is tonnes of quad biking in between! Some people welcome the break and love to marvel in the remarkable scenery. However, if you have no interest and wish to immerse yourselves in a non-stop, adrenaline fuelled adventure instead, then we will gladly oblige you! Depending on your ability levels, we can take a pace of your choosing.

Tour Times – Winter (October- March)

During the winter it gets dark relatively early, so we no longer run tours which finish at 6pm. At this time or year, we start tours at 10am. If you would like to book during these months, please let us know a few possible dates suit you and we will provide you with our schedule.

First Timers

Our Adventure Tracks quad biking tour is perfect for first timers, and those travelling with children under 12 or elderly family members. It allows you to immerse yourselves in the quad biking experience, without putting too much strain on fleeting attention spans or aging bones.

In any case, we have gone to great lengths to ensure that our 25km – 35km route is well-optimized and offers plenty of beautiful scenery and amazing photo opportunities! Whilst most customers are always hungry for more, you certainly won’t feel as though this tour wasn’t enough to satisfy your thirst for adventure!

Good to know beforehand :

It is mandatory to present a valid driving license (provisional or learning licenses are not permitted) together with your passport or identity card
The weight limit per quad is 253 lbs (160kgs)
Tour route may change due to weather conditions, group preferences and riding skills
Participants ride in pairs on 1 quad bike: 1 driver and 1 passenger. You can take turns driving the ATV if you both have a valid driver’s license
A refundable security deposit of €200 must be provided at the start of the tour. No refund will be given if safety and conduct rules are not followed or if damage occurs to the vehicle due to negligence or irresponsible driving

Frequently asked questions

Full valid driving car licence is required (drivers only). You must have this with you on tour and please note we do not accept provisional licences.
We provide helmets, plenty of water, and always have a first-aid kit on hand. This means you don’t need to bring much!
We do recommend that you wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and suitable footwear.
Personal belongings can be taken on tour as we do have a safety box on one of the quads, but we ask you only take the bare essentials (wallet/purse & sun cream). Space is limited inside the box so if possible, please just bring a small bag and keep things to a minimum.
We do not take responsibility for any lost belongings, so we strongly advise that any valuables are left at home or in your hotel to be on the safe side.

We recommend closed-in / covered toes shoes or sneakers. Flip flops or sandals are OK to wear provided you are careful – please leave the high heels at home on this occasion!
We recommend that you wear sunglasses.
It can also get incredibly dusty at times, so don’t wear your best clothes.
We advise that you apply your sun cream before you arrive to give it a chance to absorb.
We don’t recommend wearing dresses or skirts as it can be uncomfortable while riding on the quad, and remember you can get burned easily by the sun and wind, so we recommend to cover up a bit.

We do not refund customer cancellations less than 24 hours prior to departure. For cancellations of customers with more than 24 hours before departure, we refund the amount in full.

This activity can be conditioned by the weather and conditions of the sea. We can, in case of bad weather or uncomfortable sea conditions, cancel the trip by fully refunding the amount paid or rebooking the trip to another time.

Brilliant for beginners

Fantastic experience. All staff were very knowledgable and patient - perfect for beginners. Started with a brief introduction on quad safety and how to drive properly as tour includes driving on roads. Amazing sights of the cliffs, mountains and castle. Can be quite bumpy as is off road. During the tour we became cut off from the group because of traffic, instructor and group patiently waited by the side of the road further down for us to re-group so no one is left behind. Instructor is constantly checking to ensure the group is all together. Definitely a brilliant experience and a good introduction for someone who has never ridden a quad before.
