Carvoeiro is a picturesque village located in the Algarve region of southern Portugal, known for its stunning coastal cliffs, golden beaches, and traditional charm. The village is nestled between dramatic limestone cliffs, and the coastline around Carvoeiro is dotted with hidden caves and grottos that can be explored by boat or on foot. The town’s central beach, Praia do Carvoeiro, is small but lovely, surrounded by the typical whitewashed buildings and cliffs that define much of the Algarve’s coastal scenery.
A highlight of Carvoeiro is the Algar Seco, a natural rock formation located just to the east of the village. The unique formations create a series of sea caves, tunnels, and blowholes, which are stunning to explore. The scenic walking paths along the cliffs offer spectacular views of the coastline and the Atlantic Ocean.
